about

"Trophy Bride" was intense. We only played it live a few times and never did it justice. It is kind of the most bad ass song on the record, just unstoppable. The bridge reminds me of Candiria vs. an elephant stampede or something. Dave Bodie is ridiculous on this song. Also love Dave Parker's added guitar layering.

It is about watching someone you care about fall into a bad spiral.

The name came from a party house we used to all frequent on Park Street in Kingston, NY and one of the neighbors had a major trophy wife. I think we were listening to Glassjaw a lot so we thought "Trophy Bride" sounded like a good, angry male name for a song, hahaha...jesus.

The song is not about the neighbor's wife, though.

lyrics

Sleep tight insensate and insensitive, caught up in carnivals and callousness.
