This is a song about understanding between people and how communication is such a fragile thing if we are controlled by volatile, trigger happy emotions. It is about how a door to a friendship or love or in business can be open or closed by circumstance if effort isn't made to trust and talk things through.

I'll always remember when we played this at a fantastic dive called The Rhinecliff Hotel (now a swanky renovated dining facility) and the bridge was so heavy our friend (and sometime band member) Nate Kelley got in the pit and fell on his hand so badly it looked like a lobster claw.
