about

"Gatecrasher" was recorded before the 5 WEEKS/ALL POINTS COLLIDE EP with Sean-Paul kind of producing it. We tracked it at Kenny Camacho's house and it still features Dave Bodie and Mike McCoy from the GHOST TOWN RECKONING era on drums and bass instead of Nate Kelley and Sean-Paul.

Camacho would end up kind of replacing me in a sense when DIVEST sort of reconvened as a new band called Counterfeit Disaster w/ Kenny on vocals (after DIVEST broke up and Nate and I went to doing Pontius Pilate Sales Pitch full time). I have no bad vibes , though. And Kenny did a great job on guest vocals at the end of "Gatecrasher" when we threw in a reggae riff that Kurt Brown hated and didn't want in the song...which I think is one of the final arguments that led to him being out of the band after GHOST TOWN, stupidly enough.

This features 3/5ths of the 5 WEEKS line-up, though...so here ya go. One of my very favorite DIVEST songs about feeling like shit and broken hearted and crashing other people's good time at your expense with your pity party, hahaha...no, it has more depth than that. Again, think alienation, overdosed and dead friends and feeling like people have amnesia. Usual fun DIVEST stuff from this time period.

Joe Maggio is as good as Billy Corgan on this guitar solo. There, I said it. And somehow little emo boy Parker managed to write a fucking riff that sounds like Godflesh! Hell yeah, Dave!
